How it works

Cut, seed and roll in a single pass

Seed that sits on top of the ground washes away or feeds the birds. The DoMor Slit Seeder puts it in the soil where it germinates.

1

Cut the seed bed

Power-driven knives on the leading edge slice narrow slits in the soil, opening a bed for the seed without tearing up the turf around it.

2

Drop the seed

Seed feeds from the hopper into the slits at an application rate you adjust for the seed and the job.

3

Roll it in

Hardened cast steel rollers follow behind to press the seed into the soil for maximum seed-to-soil contact.

4

Watch it grow

Better seed-to-soil contact means better germination, so you get a full stand from the seed you paid for.

Why landscapers use it

Overseeding and new seeding with one machine

Seed-to-soil contact

Knives and rollers work together so seed ends up in the ground, not on top of it.

Easy on existing lawns

Narrow slits overseed thin turf while causing minimal damage to the lawn that is already there.

New seeding too

Just as good for primary seeding on bare, prepared ground as for overseeding.

Adjustable application

Change the seed rate to match different seed sizes and job requirements.

Questions

Slit seeder FAQ

Which slit seeder fits my machine?

Forward push and reverse pull models run on skid steers and mini skid steers, and the 3PT PTO models mount on a tractor’s 3-point hitch and run off the PTO. Choose 48, 60 or 72 inches to match your machine and the size of your jobs, or call us and we’ll match it for you.

Can I overseed without tearing up the lawn?

Yes. The knives cut narrow slits for the seed and the rollers press them closed, so overseeding causes minimal damage to the existing turf.

Does it work for seeding a new lawn?

Yes. The Slit Seeder works for primary seeding on prepared ground as well as overseeding.

Can I adjust how much seed goes down?

Yes. The seed application rate is adjustable for different seed and job requirements.
